Review:
Firstly, I'd like to say Happy New Months dear reader! 🎊
Secondly, this is the first book in the series that I have read, and I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Omegaverse isn't exactly my forte, which is why I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The chemistry and the already established base of a relationship that Jalisa and Ivan had was refreshing, a bit predictable but still enjoyable to read.
I liked the way they got introduced, how they interacted with each other, the characters around them, and their environment, physically and politically. The description said cozyish, and I can't find any other word to describe it. Because there's action, Gore, and violence but there's also cute and amusing moments. So yes, cozyish.
As for the plot itself, it was intriguing, a play of circumstances, predicaments, and the environment the characters find themselves in. It served not only to push the story forward but to explore a bit more about Jalisa and Ivan. This one definitely wasn't a fast burn, or a slow burn, it was something in the middle. The spice was definitely interesting, i’ll admit that while it was hot, the positions were kinda out of wack, and the descriptions in one scene felt scattered. And speaking of descriptions, the whole family feud issue had my head spinning just like Jalisa. At some point, I was getting clues, then they stopped, and during close to the end everything just came rushing at me.🥴
Aside from that, the plot twist was a nice touch. Plus how well Ivan knew Jalisa, the notes and letters were precious.
How to Fail At Dumping An Alpha Dragon comes out tomorrow, September 2nd 2025.
